Building an effective, efficient, productive and fully monetized personal brand is a by-product of a deep and strong self-belief. Self-belief implies self-efficacy. In this world, we need a lot of things in order to thrive. One of these intangible things that we need is self-belief. Why do we need astronomical doses of self-belief in order to craft sustainable and enduring personal brands it is because the world is full of adversities, failures, challenges, curve balls, ruthless competition, changes and of course outright malice.

Our personal brands will always attract fans and also those who wish to knock us down deliberately. The confidence and courage that a brand builder needs isn’t without strong foundations. This is where competence comes in. Bandura has defined self-belief as a person’s belief in their ability to complete tasks and achieve their goals.

The principal objective of a phenomenal personal brand is to solve certain problems in the marketplace.

How can we create a powerful personal brand through having great doses of self-belief?

Recognize what you are absolutely good at, build positive relationships, give yourself daily challenges, have encouraging self-talk, and learn the strategies of being assertive and being kind to yourself. I cannot forget to emphasize the essence of learning and development in engineering an admirable and fascinating personal brand. This is where coaching and mentoring become part of the investments.

Self-belief is a muscle that needs constant replenishing and servicing. Go for that hike. Go to another country and enjoy their diverse culture. Go swim in the ocean or the deepest part of the swimming pool. Have a lifeguard or life coach.  Volunteer in that funeral or wedding committee. Become the class representative or student leader. Give worthwhile opinions that can transform people’s lives. Give that valedictory speech. Seat in front.

The benefits of investing in a self-belief that is expanding exponentially will be in attracting mouthwatering and immense opportunities, forming critical lifelong relationships, free advertising, referrals, building credibility, establishing yourself as an expert in a given area, and turning your passions into a business.

The great philosopher Cicero rightly said that “If you have no confidence in self, you are twice defeated in the race of life. With confidence, you have won even before you have started.”
